Three NCAA Teams Going Under the Radar As March Madness Creeps Closer

by WagerHome Blog on February 1, 2020

February is upon us, which means it’s just four more weeks until the calendar flips to March, and the greatest three weeks of basketball takes center stage.

You love March Madness for the Cinderella stories, the buzzer-beaters, and the cutting down of the nets at the end of the Final Four. But we also love the wagering, as the 32 games that take place on the first Thursday and Friday of the tournament provide some of the most action-packed betting anywhere in sports.

If you have your own bookmaking business, you know all too well how fast and furious the betting can be that first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. The best way to get ahead of that, and to maximize your profits, is by joining forces with a pay per head software provider.

WagerHome.com allows you to try out its software for four free weeks before you ever have to make a commitment.

Looking ahead to March and any wagers you might place, certain teams are emerging as favorites. But other teams are flying under the radar and can still provide very good betting value.

Indiana Hoosiers (100/1 to win NCAA Championship)

It’s strange to think of one of the true bluebloods of college basketball as a team flying under the radar, but having missed the NCAA Tournament for three straight years, that’s where Indiana is. But a big win over Michigan State recently and an earlier win over Ohio State makes it more than likely that the tournament drought is about to end.

Battle-tested through a tough Big Ten season, Indiana will have a few more top matchups to prove that it belongs. But right now, all signs point to a program returning to its glory days.

Colorado Buffaloes (80/1 to win NCAA Championship)

No one thinks of the Colorado Buffaloes when talking about NCAA Tournament success. They’ve won exactly three tournament games since 1963. The last win came a long eight years ago.

The Buffaloes, however, are a good team. Maybe even a very good team. Colorado is battling out it for the top spot in the Pac-12 and has a signature win over Oregon to bolster its resume.

ncaa

Colorado also has a top 20 defense, which is exactly what you need to make a deep tournament run.

Rutgers (80/1 to win NCAA Championship)

Another school playing great team defense is Rutgers, which has allowed it to climb back into the Top 25. A good win against Penn State and tough losses to Illinois and Iowa highlight the Scarlet Knights’ season resume.

It has been 29 years since Rutgers played in the NCAA Tournament and 37 years since it won a tournament game. So even as a ranked team, it is being largely overlooked.

Rutgers is winning by an average margin of almost 10 points and is getting significant offensive contributions from seven different players, making it very difficult to shut down, and making it an intriguing under-the-radar play.

Betting These 3 Dark Horses In The NCAA Tournament

by WagerHome Blog on January 25, 2020

Not everything has to be about the Super Bowl this week. As the calendar gets closer to February, the NCAA basketball season begins to take center stage as the favorites battle it out for the top seeds in March.

But every year, there is an unexpected run to the Final Four, like Auburn in 2019. So who is this year’s best candidate to go on a run and outperform its seed? Who might be the surprise wager of the year and net you a tidy profit in a future’s bet?

Houston Cougars 80/1

The Houston Cougars were a No. 3 seed in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, but because they lost a pair of scorers from that team, they began this season unranked. That has changed, as they’ve now climbed into the Top 25 following a big win over 16th-ranked Wichita State.

And with a tough road loss at Oregon, this team will be battle-tested by the time March rolls around.

With Kansas transfer Quentin Grimes emerging as the superstar scorer the Cougars hoped he would be, this is exactly the kind of team that can go on a late-season run to Atlanta.

Maryland Terrapins 40/1

It seems like every year, there is a team from the Big Ten in the mix to win the national championship, and quite often, that team is Michigan State. But don’t sleep on Maryland, which is currently tied for third in the conference.

The Terrapins have had big wins over Notre Dame and Marquette – two frequent teams mentioned as possible tournament dark horses – and the grind through the conference will get Maryland more than ready for March.

dark horse

Maryland features a great defense, giving up just 61 points per game, and a dynamic outside scorer in junior guard Anthony Cowan Jr. And that combo is exactly what a team needs for a deep tournament run.

Arizona Wildcats 25/1

The Pac-12 has been a down conference for quite some time. It has had just one Final Four appearance (Oregon) in the last 11 years. But with three teams in the Top 25 this year, there is some quality basketball being played out west, and Arizona might be a team primed to return to the former glory of the Lute Olson days.

It was 2001 the last time Arizona made a Final Four, but following a dominant 21-point win over 20th-ranked Colorado, the Wildcats look like a team on the rise. They’ve also looked very good in close losses to Baylor, Oregon, and Gonzaga, giving them the exact kind of resume you look for in a tournament dark horse.

It’s an exciting time of year and the perfect time of year if you’re interested in starting your own bookmaking business. Joining forces with pay per head software is the easiest and most profitable way to launch your sports wagering business in 2020.

You can give WagerHome.com a test drive for four weeks free before having to make a financial commitment.

Top Three Factors In Placing Winning Bets On College Basketball

by WagerHome Blog on January 4, 2020

Now that the calendar has ticked over to January, the college basketball season is ready to heat up, with full in-conference play and the race to the NCAA Tournament.

Sports gamblers are beginning to turn their focus away from football and over to basketball, and bookmakers are doing the same. It’s also the time of year to take your bookmaking service to the next level and sign up with a pay per head software service. At WagerHome.com, you can get four weeks free to test it out.

There is no testing out college basketball betting, however. You want to win, and you want to win now, and these are the three keys to make sure that happens.

Choose Your Season

It’s all about finding the best value when placing your sports bets, and that means finding the point spreads that offer you room to succeed. College basketball is perfect for this because there are so many games to bet each day that it becomes impossible for every point spread to be 100 percent accurate.

Too many games to track for the books means more games for you to exploit as a bettor.

But that, of course, changes by March and the NCAA Tournament, when information is plentiful and the games become fewer. This isn’t to say you should avoid betting on the Tournament.

It’s one of the greatest spectacles in sports and worth your time as a gambler. But you will find better values at other points in the season. So for the sake of profitability, your focus should be there.

Take Notes and Keep Records

Because there are so many games and so many variables to consider when placing your college basketball bets, keep track of the bets you make, the reasons behind those bets, and the success you had because of those reasons.

Good record-keeping by you can be just as informative going forward as insider information from experienced sharps. It allows you to see where you went right, and more importantly, where you may have gone wrong. And then, you can filter out the information that doesn’t direct successful wagering.

Make a spreadsheet that tracks your bets, the spread, and the final score. Examine the trends of teams you know and like to bet and keep track of what factors lead to their wins and losses. And then use all that information to formulate a plan going forward.

Watch Basketball

It sounds obvious, but it’s often ignored by people who think all they need to know are numbers. Watching basketball will give you more information than any boxscore.

Study which players excel in certain situations. Learn the offenses and defenses that teams like to play, and then see which types they match up best against.

Sports isn’t blackjack. There are no mathematical formulas that tell you which way you should bet. To be fully informed, you need to know the teams, the players, and have a complete understanding of how each performs on the court.

Wagering NCAA Basketball During The Peak Of The Season With Pay Per Head

by WagerHome Blog on December 10, 2019

We’ve gotten past the early weeks of the 2019-20 college basketball season, where teams are still figuring out what they have with their new players, how their team is going to gel, and where they stand among the competition. That means the real season can now begin, and the real wagering can commence.

Conference Play

There is a small smattering of conference games that tip off in November and December, but the real action gets going in early January. If you are running your own bookmaking site through a pay per head service, then you know that this is when the action really picks up.

In the first week of January alone, we get top-25 showdowns between Ohio State and Maryland, Pittsburgh and North Carolina, Arizona and Oregon, Alabama and Kentucky, Baylor and Kansas, Louisville and Notre Dame, and Wake Forest and Duke.

If you haven’t yet signed up for pay per head site to handle the administrative side of your bookmaking service, be sure to do so prior to January. WagerHome.com gives you four free weeks to test it out, which will take you right up to the start of full conference play.

Conference Tournaments

They may not quite have the same panache as the NCAA Tournament, but if you are a savvy bettor, then you know that conference tournaments can make for some of the best betting of the entire season. The teams all know each other, and an automatic bid to the NCAAs raises the stakes. And some teams can play as many as five games in five days, going back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to back.

And with so many games all going on at once, and so many lines for the books to keep track of, real bargains and values can be found. With 32 conferences crowning a champion over the course of eight days, the March Madness really begins before the committee has announced a single seeding.

NCAA Tournament

It’s not just the biggest event of the college basketball year, and thus its biggest wagering event, it’s one of the biggest events on the entire sports calendar, only sharing the top of the sports gambling mountain with the Super Bowl. But that’s just one day. The NCAA Tournament goes on for a full three weeks.

Anyone who bets the NCAA Tournament knows that it requires a complete change in strategy. Overall strength of a team is less important than how they’ve been playing down the stretch. Teams with big-time scorers may get the hype, but the teams built for a deep tournament run play great defense.

There are no more homecourts, but location, travel, and traveling fans are all very important. And since a lot of people just start betting at tournament time, public money may not be informed money.

All of these are important things to know and factor in when placing wagers on the NCAA Tournament, or running your own PPH site that is expecting an uptick in action come March.

Three Darkhorses To Win College Basketball’s National Title In 2020

by WagerHome Blog on November 4, 2019

The college basketball season tips off on Tuesday, and there is a lot of time between then and March Madness. That is good for you as a bookie with all of the college hoops betting action that is rampant for the next few months.

It is important that when you have a legit Pay Per Head website, like the one you can get through WagerHome.com, that you get in touch with your players and let them know all of the college basketball betting options. There are so many of them from spreads and totals to moneylines and futures that you can offer your players, as the more betting options they have, the more they can bet and the more money you can make.

One popular betting option is the futures bet on which team will win the national championship. Players can have betting action the whole season with that bet, as they can wager on the team they think will be cutting down the nets in March.

The usual suspects being the powerhouses of college hoops have the best betting odds to win it all in Michigan State (+650), Kentucky (+800), Kansas (+850), and Duke (+1000), but let’s take a look at three darkhorses that can win the title.

Texas Tech (+2500)

The Red Raiders were the national runner-up last season, and they do not have great odds to win it all since they lost three of five starters. Davide Moretti and Kyler Edwards are the returning players, but the reason the Red Raiders are a darkhorse is that they have incoming freshman Jahmius Ramsey, who may be a one-and-done player and is highly touted to have a big season.

Chris Clarke and T.J. Holyfield are a couple of solid graduate transfers, and head coach Chris Beard knows how to get his players to buy into the Tech system. The Red Raiders are flying under the radar to begin the season, and they have the talent to go on another deep March Madness run.

Arizona (+3500)

Arizona is the 21st-ranked team in the preseason polls, and they are all about youth, with a pair of five-star freshmen, Nico Mannion and Josh Green, expected to lead the team. The Wildcats also have top-50 recruit Zeke Nnaji in the paint, and the school got some good news recently, as Kentucky transfer Jemarl Baker can play this season and not sit out.

There are still a lot of questions for head coach Sean Miller to answer, but the Wildcats are loaded with talent.

Utah State (+7500)

Talk about a darkhorse in Utah State, which is not from a major conference and has major longshot odds. However, the Aggies have, perhaps, the best center in the nation in Neemias Queta, and they bring back five of their top six players from last season, including Sam Merrill, who may have a breakout season.

The team won 28 games last season and made the Big Dance, losing in the first round, but they have almost all of their players back and may make a lot of noise come March.

The college hoops season is here, and you, as a bookie, have to pounce on all the betting options available. Let your players know all of their college basketball betting options, as there are many, and you can really profit with your PPH site in the several months of the NCAA basketball season.

March Madness- Generate profits with your Pay Per Head Props and Live Betting

by Wager Home on April 5, 2019

The tools that help bookies generate greater profits from March Madness

One of the most lucrative events for bookies is the March Madness. The largest college basketball tournament moves around $ 3 billion in bets each year, placed primarily in sportsbooks and online according to the American Gaming Association. The March Madness is a unique event in the world of betting since it is a full month where almost every day there are games, the bookies that have a good Pay Per Head provider that gives them access to the right tools are capable to capitalize all these games and generate an excellent profit for their business.

But what are the tools that help bookies generate greater profits from March Madness?

A broad catalog of betting lines

Bookies that want to capitalize on the college basketball party should think outside the traditional betting lines and incorporate prop bets into their offer. The prop bets are excellent to increase the income of a bookie since this type of bets appeals to a wider audience and not only to those interested in basketball games. For example, for this edition of the Final Four, some of the most popular prop bets that bookies should incorporate into their betting site include the number of times advertisers will mention the names of the legends Charles Barkley -300 and Magic Johnson + 240 during the games of their alma maters Auburn and Michigan State respectively. Another interesting prop bet is if Bruce Pearl will have his suit jacket/sports coat on -700 or off +475 at the conclusion of the game.

Not all props are strange and there are some related to what happens on the court. For the Texas Tech game against Michigan State, one of the most interesting prop bets is which team will score first 20+ points. Since both teams maintain an excellent record of easily reaching the first 20 points in their previous games. The betting line is in Texas Tech +105 Michigan State -125

Live Betting

Nowadays gamblers want to have full control of their bets and have the ability to bet at any time, even at the same time that the game is being developed. It is for this reason that the option of live betting is one of the most demanded by punters. Bookies that have a robust live betting platform that allows their bettors to place bets as the games are developed will obtain higher profits from events such as March Madness and mainly from the Final Four final, since 57% of Americans acknowledged that if a team they bet on was in the Final Four, those games would be more entertaining.

Wagerhome.com makes available to the bookies these and other essential tools to have a successful betting business. With more than 30 years in the betting industry, Wagerhome.com has established itself as one of the best Pay Per Head providers in the gambling world, thanks to the fact that it implements the latest technologies in the development of its betting software, which is unique in the industry because of how easy it is to use and adapt to the needs of each bookie.

Bookies can take advantage of the final phase of March Madness to test the services of Wagerhome.com using the free trial of 4 weeks they offer, in this way they will see first hand why Wagerhome.com is the best Pay Per Head partner that they can have.
