NFL Week 7 Best Bets

by WagerHome Blog on October 19, 2023

With six teams on a bye in NFL Week 7, we have a slimmed-down NFL schedule this weekend, with only 13 games.

But fewer games does not mean fewer good NFL games, and we begin our Week 7 best bets look at a really good game in Baltimore.

Detroit Lions (+3) at Baltimore Ravens

Jared Goff has been outstanding, the Lions are in the top 10 in both offense and defense, and their 5-1 record is tied for the best mark in the NFL. And Detroit is a road underdog at the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens are good, but the Lions have been hammering teams, winning four games by double-digits. It’s not that the Ravens don’t present a challenge for the Lions, but at this point, Detroit has earned the right to not get points just because they’re on the road.

Take those points.

Washington Commanders (-2.5) at New York Giants

This is not one of the better games of the weekend, but it is one of the better bets. Yes, the Giants nearly shocked the world with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback last week in Buffalo. But that was a superior performance by Taylor against his old team. This week, he will have a letdown against an old division foe.

The Commanders look like a potential NFL Wild Card team, the Giants look like a top-five drafting team, and Washington is the better bet at MetLife Stadium.

NFL

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (-7.5)

The Cardinals are playing as good a football as you can play and not win games. They are just 1-5 on the season but 3-3 against the point spread.

But this week, they get one of the best defenses in the NFL in the Seattle Seahawks, and they will find the going much tougher than in weeks past. Seattle should have won last week at Cincinnati, and they will this week at home, covering the spread.

Miami Dolphins (+2.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

The game of the week is in Philadelphia, where the two best offenses in the NFL do battle.

They are No. 1 and No. 2 in total yards, the Dolphins lead the NFL in points, and the Eagles are fifth. They’re also both top-10 in yards per play and third down conversion rate.

But Miami has a huge edge in red zone scoring, and that is why the Dolphins should not be underdogs in this game. The Dolphins score touchdowns on 80% of their red zone trips, the Eagles score TDs on just 45%.

Miami scores more touchdowns, more points, and can beat you more ways, and that is why you should take the points.

NFL Week 8 Betting Picks

by WagerHome Blog on October 27, 2021

We are nearing the halfway point of the NFL season, and the action around the league is heating up. There are some big games on the schedule in Week 8, but more importantly, there are some great NFL Week 8 betting opportunities to be had.

Arizona Cardinals -6.5 vs. Green Bay Packers

The 7-0 Arizona Cardinals host the 6-1 Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 8. These are two of the best teams in the NFL this season, but the Packers are coming into this game shorthanded.

Green Bay could be without their top three wide receivers due to injuries and COVID-19, and that is going to have a big impact on this game. Arizona is scoring over 32 points per game, and the Packers will need to score to keep this game close.

This would be a great game if both teams were at full strength, but that won’t be the case in this one. Take the Arizona Cardinals -6.5 as they win this game by a touchdown at least.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -5.0 at New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints pose the biggest challenge to Tampa Bay in the NFC South, but it’s not a very big threat. Tampa Bay has been rolling over opponents this season, and they will be looking to make a statement in New Orleans.

The Saints are allowing less than 17 points per game this season, but they haven’t faced an offense this good yet. Tom Brady has already thrown for 21 touchdowns this season, and this should be another huge day for the Tampa Bay offense.

NFL Week 8 Betting Picks

New Orleans can make this a competitive game, but they just don’t have enough weapons to win the game. Take the Buccaneers -5.0 as they move to 7-1.

Kansas City Chiefs -10.0 vs. New York Giants

The Kansas City Chiefs are an absolute mess, and their 3-4 start has to be one of the biggest surprises in football. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown nine interceptions this season, and that defense has been a disaster.

The Chiefs host the 2-5 New York Giants on Monday night, and this feels like the perfect time to turn things around. Kansas City is too talented to continue to lose games, and they should feast on a bad Giants team in this one.

New York is dealing with a number of injuries to key players, and this could get out of hand in a hurry. Take the Chiefs -10.0 as the Monday Night Football Game turns into a blowout.

NFL Week 6 Betting Picks

by WagerHome Blog on October 14, 2021

We are starting to see the cream of the crop rise to the top, while other teams are seeing a once-promising season begin to slip away. Even with an extra week on the schedule, there are a number of great and important matchups in Week 6. Check out our NFL Week 6 Betting Picks below!

Los Angeles Rams (-10.5) at New York Giants

The Rams are 4-1 and just a game behind the first-place Cardinals. But if L.A. wants to catch Arizona, to whom they are already behind in the tiebreaker, they must win all the games they are supposed to win. That includes this week at the Giants, who are suddenly one of the most injured teams in the NFC.

Saquon Barkley is out with a sprained ankle, which is a blow considering how he was beginning to look like his old self after last year’s ACL tear. Quarterback Daniel Jones is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, and he is a big question mark for Sunday.

All of that is to say, look for the Rams to roll this week and win by two touchdowns.

Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns (-3)

This is perhaps the game of the week, as the unbeaten Cardinals look to stay ahead of the Rams, and the Browns look to chase down the rolling Ravens.

The Cardinals aren’t just a great offensive team, although they are that. They have also played really good defense this year – except when it comes to stopping the run. The Cardinals rank 28th in rushing defense, while the Browns rank first in rushing offense.

That formula spells doom for the Cardinals’ unbeaten streak.

NFL Week 6 Betting PicksCleveland runs wild on Sunday, controls the tempo of this game, and covers the three-point spread.

Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions (+3.5)

Even if you’re not a Lions fan, it has been painful to watch what has happened to them this season. A record-setting field goal that was just inches from being short beat them. Then last week, there was an incredible fourth quarterback comeback that featured a strip fumble to keep the Lions’ offense alive, then a gutsy two-point conversion call with 37 seconds on the clock to take the lead, but it was all undone by a 54-yard field goal to beat them.

If you saw the heartfelt and tear-fill postgame press conference by head coach Dan Campbell, it’s impossible not to root for this team.

At some point, they are going to get over the hump. It may not come this week against the Bengals. Detroit may fall to 0-6. But this team plays with heart, and they won’t lose by more than a field goal to Cincinnati. Take the Lions to cover.

Teams With Biggest Additions and Subtractions During NFL Free Agency

by WagerHome Blog on March 31, 2020

As much of the world remains on lockdown because of the coronavirus crisis, most of the sports world sits dark. But that does not mean that there isn’t anything to bet, or any major sports making news.

The NFL’s new league year kicked off two weeks ago, and several teams have gotten better, while some teams have gotten worse.

Biggest Additions

Arizona Cardinals

Kenyan Drake and Larry Fitzgerald are staying put, which is a big win for the Cardinals. But the coup de grace came when Arizona traded away David Johnson (expendable because of Drake) for one of the best wide receivers in football, DeAndre Hopkins.

Quarterback Kyler Murray now has all the weapons he needs to really show how good he can be.

Miami Dolphins

Loaded with draft capital and cap space, and sensing a change in the landscape of the AFC East, the Dolphins have been major buyers at the start of this offseason. Cornerback Byron Jones, linebacker Kyle Van Noy, and defensive end Shaq Lawson are the biggest names Miami has added.

The Dolphins also have three first-round draft picks and two in the second, so plenty more solid additions are on the way.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Volume-wise the Bucs have been rather tame, as just one significant addition has been signed by Tampa Bay. But it’s the name of names, the biggest prize ever to hit free agency, five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

NFL

One thing is certain – the Bucs will not see 30 interceptions from their quarterback next season. A tough NFC South just got that much tougher.

Biggest Subtractions

Houston Texans

Houston Texans fans don’t want to be reminded of it anymore, but they have been the biggest losers of any team so far. Not only did they send away their young quarterback’s favorite weapon in Hopkins, but they got almost no value in return.

The Vikings got a much better haul when they traded away wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason. And considering Houston doesn’t draft until the 57th pick, this offseason isn’t getting any better.

Los Angeles Rams

The 2018 NFC Champions will go into 2020 just a shell of their former selves. Gone are Todd Gurley, Clay Matthews, Dante Fowler, and Corey Littleton.

It’s hard to believe, but the Rams might actually be only the fourth-most talented team in their division following the slew of cap casualties. They also won’t draft until 52nd overall, so very little young and inexpensive help is on the way.

Pay Per Head Software

If you are thinking about becoming your own bookmaker and taking NFL draft bets or futures bets on the upcoming NFL season, or a full slate of game bets when sports start up again, WagerHome.com offers you four free weeks of pay per head service to give it a try.

WagerHome.com is also built for the long haul and is focused on creating partnerships that will be profitable for all parties and last long beyond the current COVID-19 crisis.
